Today, Dang Clēts share new single “Lines” from their forthcoming self-titled EP Dang Clēts.

“Lines” fuses the smooth synth scapes of Beach House with the guitar-forward jangle pop of Mac DeMarco, making it easy to spot the band’s influences; their flair for the unpredictable, though, makes their sound all their own and drives you to hit the repeat button after first listen.

The Wild Honey Pie says Dang Clēts “feels like a breezy afternoon spent next to the beach, buoyed by strong pop sensibilities and shimmering synth lines.”

James Forward, Jake Mills, and Connor Cunningham met for the first time as college freshmen in Boston, but their blissed-out jangle rock makes their California origins apparent. The early days of their friendship led to the formation of the trio’s first band, Waldo. The guys honed their signature sound during this time, playing the Boston circuit and opening for The New Pornographers and Childish Gambino after winning Battle of the Bands at Tufts University.

After graduating, James, Jake, and Connor decided to stick around the Boston area, continuing to make music as they adjusted to new work schedules and a new band name. Their first release as Dang Clēts is the culmination of two years of living, playing, and recording together in their Somerville home.

The dreamy and carefully crafted listen that is their self-titled debut EP will be available on June 16th via independent release, and the band will be celebrating it’s release at The Middle East Upstairs on June 18th in Boston!
