Jonathan Billington of Music First Audio is one of the nicest people you could hope to meet and he put together a pretty simple but very effective system for this year’s North West Audio Show with two reel to reel front ends feeding into one of his pre-amps in turn into a pair of Quad valve amps.
This year to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the release of SGT. PEPPER’S LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND, Music First Audio played the album in full from 3pm on both days. Jonathan was using a 1970 7.5 IPS 4 track stereo reel to reel tape recording from the Capitol/Ampex L-2653 recording.
