David Brook is one of those people without whom the Hifi world would be a much duller place and this year’s North West Audio Show was no exception. David took delivery at the show of his new Studer reel to reel player that had been fettled with new electronics by GamuT and he couldn’t have been happier…he was grinning like a Cheshire cat throughout the show and with good reason. The system sounded lovely using Music First pre and Long Dog Audio amplifiers.

The big news in David’s live though is the opening of his new bricks and mortar hifi shop in Huddersfield called Brook Audio. The shop stocks a wide range of kit from Clearaudio, Mofi Electronics, AM, We Audio Systems and Project…and that’s just turntables. On the amplifier front he’s stocking PS Audio, Music First, Pass Labs, Acoustic Masterpiece and Long Dog Audio and as for loudspeakers the choice is small but very nicely thought out. We’re very much looking forward to popping up to see David and his new shop in the very near future and wish him all the best with his venture.
