ONEIROS LOUDSPEAKER LAUNCHES IN NYC

The long-awaited Oneiros loudspeaker, developed under the leadership of Jerry Bloomfield, CEO of Falcon Acoustics and Oneiros Audio, made its public debut earlier this month in New York City.

With market availability scheduled for early Q1 2025, this three-way floorstanding speaker represents a major innovation in combining striking aesthetics with advanced acoustic engineering.

The launch event took place in New York at the The Power Station Studios, Living Colour joined Jerry, Graeme and the Oneiros team for a private set, recorded by Ron St Germain, then playing back the just recorded content on the Oneiros speakers in Studio B.

GENERATIVE DESIGN MEETS HIGH-END ACOUSTICS

The Oneiros project used Generative Design to create a distinctive organic cabinet shape. Through this process, the team generated multiple design concepts, ultimately selecting one that offered optimal sonic performance and a unique aesthetic. The selected design underwent over 100 hours of CAD development to refine its 3D model for production, ensuring both visual and acoustic precision.

F1-INSPIRED ENGINEERING

Located in the UK’s Motorsport Valley, Oneiros Audio leveraged cutting-edge technologies from the Formula 1 industry. The cabinet construction employs a monocoque carbon-fibre pre-preg sandwich system, identical to those used in F1 car bodies. Tier 1 specialists in Finite Element Analysis validated the cabinet’s acoustic properties and resonance damping, ensuring a robust yet lightweight structure.

ONEIROS LOUDSPEAKER PRODUCTION PROCESS

The six-stage manufacturing process highlights the precision engineering behind the Oneiros loudspeaker. From creating polyurethane tooling block patterns with five-axis CNC machining to bonding components using Quasi Isotropic lay-up systems, every step is executed by experts in high-performance materials. The cabinets are then finished by luxury automotive specialists who also work with brands like Rolls Royce and McLaren. The front baffle and footplate, machined from aluminium billets weighing over 1,200 lbs, are refined to just 48 lbs and 46 lbs, respectively, showcasing craftsmanship and attention to detail.

DRIVE UNITS AND CROSSOVERS

The Oneiros loudspeaker incorporates in-house designed twin 10” bass cones made from Twaron® Graphene nano-composites, twin 3” midrange domes using Dyneema® Graphene composites, and a 1” OEM diamond dome tweeter. The crossovers feature custom-designed gold-plated PCBs and top-tier Mundorf components, including Supreme EVO Silver/Gold/Oil capacitors.
