Pangea Audio, a developer and manufacturer of audio accessories, has announced that the latest version of its popular Record Doctor cleaning machine will be available by the end of the month.

Marking the 20th anniversary of the company’s first Record Doctor, the new Record Doctor VI (SRP: $299.95) continues Pangea Audio’s tradition of offering an advanced audiophile-grade record cleaning system that they say “performs up to the standards of products costing several times the price”.

Record Doctor VI

Featuring the same vacuum motor and cleaning strip as many more expensive machines, the Record Doctor VI is hand-operated for greater control.

“Every year, we hear that vinyl and turntable sales continue to rise, but with the ever-expanding market comes a greater need for products that help ensure a lifetime of listening pleasure,” said Steve Niemi, Director of Global Sales, Pangea Audio, LLC. “Record Doctor VI brings a simple, yet powerful tool for record maintenance to customers of every type, from diehard audiophiles to newcomers to the format.”

Twenty years in, Pangea Audio Distributing’s new Record Doctor VI remains faithful to the original design, with a precision roller bearing to make records spin easily, and a handy storage tank for the easy removal of spent record cleaning fluids. However, the new model includes several notable upgrades over the previous version, featuring a motor that runs cooler and quieter than previous versions, a stain-resistant aluminum top, a larger turning knob for keeping fluids off the LP label, a newly designed deep-cleaning Clean Sweep fluid applicator brush, and a choice of two high-gloss finishes, carbon fibre vinyl and high gloss black.

Eco Friendly Packaging

Like the majority of Pangea Audio products, the new Record Doctor VI is shipped in sturdy eco-friendly, recyclable packaging, bypassing the messy and harmful Styrofoam that is often used for Hifi equipment.

“Proper maintenance is not an option – it’s critical to preventing damage to vinyl and styli,” added Steve Niemi. “Record Doctor VI is the most efficient and cost-effective way for music lovers to show some love for their favorite vinyl and the gear they use to enjoy it.”
