PMC, Bryston’s UK distributor is introducing the SP4 surround processor to the UK high-end home cinema market.

The SP4 is a 16-channel processor that comes with 16 assignable XLR outputs and two additional dedicated downmix outputs. It is expandable to a 32-channel system via a set of 16 optional RCA sockets, enabling the SP4 to run two parallel 16 channel systems, for the ultimate in home cinema experiences. Its Dolby Atmos®, Auro-3D® and DTS:X TM capabilities sit alongside conventional surround formats, providing maximum flexibility in set up and a truly immersive cinematic experience. With Dirac® Live room correction technology built in, trained home cinema stockists, installers and enthusiasts, who demand master quality performance and lifelike audio, will have access to the latest technologies within their Bryston home cinema environment.

Connectivity of the SP4 is without parallel, with no less than seven HDMI inputs, three of which feature HDMI2.0/HDCP2.2 and four have HDMI1.4/HDCP2.2. These four inputs can also be configured for HDMI2.0/HDCP2.2 in the password protected installer setup pages. Three optical Toslink and three SPDIF RCA digital audio inputs complete the digital connections and Bryston’s famed analogue audio expertise is also included, with eight RCA single ended inputs for use as 7.1 or four stereo inputs. The 16 balanced XLR outputs permit the finest quality analogue signal transfer to the power amplifiers. Digital signals may be output via the two HDMI sockets and the SP4 can be controlled using Savant, RTI, Control4 and Crestron (with plugin modules). An iOS app and webpage are also available for users who do not have control systems. The online connectivity of the product permits trained installers to remotely monitor the status of the SP4 and reconfigure it for their clients from anywhere.

The SP4 has been designed as a wholly customisable product, with fully assignable channel configuration and a fully configurable channel matrix and, being built on a 3U modular platform, the Bryston engineers can integrate future advanced technologies and make upgrades available to consumers, extending the life of the product.

Ian Sutton, PMC UK Distribution divisional director, says of the SP4, “When Bryston design any product they do it the best it can be done. Their amplifiers and digital audio products are legendary in the worlds of high-end domestic and professional audio and with the SP4 they have brought this same passion for creating the best to the home cinema world.” He continues, “True connoisseurs of home cinema, who want a totally uncompromised performance and a truly flexible system, have been waiting for a product as good as the SP4. And now it’s here!”

The SP4 is available now with an MSRP of £14,500
