Q ACOUSTICS EXPANDS SUBWOOFER RANGE WITH Q SUB SERIES

British loudspeaker brand Q Acoustics has unveiled a new range of active subwoofers, the Q Acoustics Q SUB series.

Designed for home cinema and HiFi enthusiasts, the Q Acoustics Q SUB Series  consists of three models: the 8-inch Q SUB80, the 10-inch Q SUB100, and the 12-inch Q SUB120.

Each model in the Q SUB series features onboard Digital Signal Processing (DSP), which allows for precise system integration, minimising distortion and ensuring a more immersive audio experience. The DSP also includes automatic gain adjustment based on the input signal, improving performance regardless of the connected source.

FLEXIBLE PLACEMENT AND CONTROL

Placement is key for subwoofers, and Q Acoustics has designed the Q SUB range to simplify integration into any listening space. Each unit includes a low-pass filter with an adjustable frequency range (40 Hz to 250 Hz) for seamless blending with various speaker systems. Additionally, the subwoofers offer dual-phase and delay controls to fine-tune signal alignment, making them adaptable to different room layouts.

POWERFUL AMPLIFICATION AND CUSTOM DESIGN

The Q SUB series features a custom-designed amplifier module with four digital power amplifier stages, enhancing efficiency and reducing heat dissipation. This allows the subwoofers to deliver up to 600W peak power while maintaining a tight, dynamic bass response. An intelligent protection system also continuously monitors temperature levels, ensuring long-term reliability.

INFINITE BAFFLE CABINET FOR PRECISE BASS

Each model utilises an infinite baffle (sealed box) design to produce tighter, more focused bass compared to ported alternatives. The cabinets are constructed from high-density MDF with internal Dart-bracing to enhance structural stability and reduce unwanted resonance. Adjustable, locking spikes are included for levelling on different floor surfaces.

DESIGNED TO COMPLEMENT ANY SYSTEM

Aesthetically, the Q SUB series blends into any space, with a choice of Satin Black (with black grille) or Satin White (with grey grille) finishes. These models complement Q Acoustics’ speaker range, including the 3000c series, as well as other HiFi and home cinema systems.
