CELEBRATING THE LABEL’S 125TH ANNIVERSARY QOBUZ PARTNERS WITH DEUTSCHE GRAMMOPHON
Streaming platform Qobuz has announced a partnership with classical music label Deutsche Grammophon to celebrate the record label’s 125th anniversary.
Qobuz has teamed up with Deutsche Grammophon to celebrate 125 years of the iconic classical label. The global content initiative will include exclusive playlists, editorial, original video content with Deutsche Grammophon artists, and more, including a wide selection of download offers on Deutsche Grammophon’s extensive catalogue.
QOBUZ PARTNERS WITH DEUTSCHE GRAMMOPHON
There are more than 6,500 albums from Deutsche Grammophon on Qobuz, representing more than 11,000 hours of listening.
The goal is to work alongside Deutsche Grammophon to support their legendary catalogue, new releases and the label’s emerging artists, from iconic 20th century recordings by Herbert von Karajan, Leonard Bernstein and Martha Argerich to today’s musicians like Anne-Sophie Mutter, María Dueñas, Hilary Hahn, Yuja Wang, Lang Lang, Gustavo Dudamel, Bruce Liu, Víkingur Ólafsson, Max Richter and many more. The cross-platform campaign will encompass Qobuz’ download store, streaming apps and editorial content, with exclusive curated playlists and video footage of artists paying tribute to the label.
“Deutsche Grammophon is one of the most prestigious labels in the history of recorded classical music. A label brimming with essential recordings from the 20th century, but also home to the young virtuosos of our time. Qobuz is interested in the music of yesterday, today and tomorrow, so the 360° partnership we launched with the legendary yellow label was an obvious choice. With its sound quality, editorial approach, playlists and exclusive interviews, Qobuz is proud to be celebrating 125 years of Deutsche Grammophon in its own way,” Marc Zisman, Chief of Music, Qobuz.
QOBUZ AND RECORD LABELS
The Deutsche Grammophon collaboration is the latest development in Qobuz’ effort to super-serve classical and jazz lovers as a market leader in original content. Last year, Qobuz worked on an exclusive global initiative with Blue Note, featuring artists such as Bill Frisell, Arturo O’Farrill, Melissa Aldana, and many more.
Additional labels with whom Qobuz has partnered on unique marketing campaigns include Zappa Records, Westbound Records, Secretly Group, International Anthem, and Mercury KX, among others.
HiFi PiG Says: Qobuz covers a wide genre of music and this collaboration is as important for the streaming service as it is for the record label.
