Pangea Audio, a developer and manufacturer of audio accessories, has announced it will soon ship a new low profile Record Doctor Record Clamp for listeners who prefer to use a dust cover when listening to vinyl records.

Standing just 1.1” tall with a diameter of 3.1” the low profile clamp which stands nearly 40% shorter than the original version, bonds the vinyl record to the platter, holding the record firmly in place and improving sound by reducing LP slippage and unwanted resonances.

Stability

The effect is especially helpful when playing records where bass vibrations or high-frequency resonances are an issue, when playing slightly warped records, or when recording vinyl to a digital computer file. Also, due to increased LP stability, a record clamp helps reduce both stylus and record wear, extending the life of both.

“Our most recent clamp is one of Pangea Audio’s most successful accessories to date, no doubt because it offers a demonstrable improvement with a bare minimum of effort and cost,” said Steve Niemi, Director of Global Sales, Pangea Audio. “The new model features the same important attributes as its predecessor, but its lower height allows it fit under a dust cover, which will be a boon to music lovers with pets and young children who need to protect their records when they are played.”

Non-Resonant Body

The low-profile Record Doctor Record Clamp, comprised of three precisely-tooled parts, comes in a black non-resonant phenolic body. Its 5.6oz (160g) low-mass design holds the vinyl in place without applying excessive stress to delicate turntable bearings, motor, or damaging LP labels. The textured aluminium knob allows for precise clamping pressure of the machined brass collet.
