STACK AUDIO UNVEILS SERENE STABILISER AND SERENE MAT

The new Stack Audio Serene Stabiliser and Stack Audio Serene Mat have been designed to enhance vinyl playback.

STACK AUDIO SERENE STABILISER

Stack Audio has launched the Serene Stabiliser, a turntable accessory designed to eliminate vibrations at the source. The Serene Stabiliser uses a patent-pending Tension Activated Particle Absorption (TAPA) system. This innovative approach employs lightweight rubber particles within a tensioned silicone membrane, converting micro-vibrations into heat and preventing interference with the stylus, Stack Audio tells us.

Compatible with both rigid and suspended turntables, the lightweight Stabiliser is designed to ensure precision tracking and enhance clarity, with a compact design and a weight of just 85g.

DESIGN AND FEATURES OF THE SERENE STABILISER

The Serene Stabiliser fits over the turntable spindle and rests securely on the record label. Its machined aluminium casing houses lightweight damping particles, while the tensioned silicone surface ensures efficient absorption of micro-vibrations.

Handcrafted in the UK, the Stabiliser measures 77mm in diameter and 25mm in height. It fits any turntable with a spindle length of 14mm or lower from the record surface.

STACK AUDIO SERENE MAT

The Serene Mat from Stack Audio is a precision-engineered solution for vibration isolation. It features four deformable sprung silicone pads, tuned through advanced computational analysis to absorb micro-vibrations effectively.

This unique design centres the weight of the record on the pads. The combination of the silicone’s damping properties and the precision-tuned pads enhances playback clarity and eliminates unwanted resonance, Theo Stack told us.

THE ENGINEERING BEHIND THE SERENE MAT

Developed in collaboration with mechanical engineering expert Dr Vaclav Ondra, the Serene Mat underwent 29 design iterations to achieve optimal performance. Extensive vibration testing across various turntable types informed its final design.

The Mat’s dimensions—294mm in diameter and 3mm thick—make it compatible with most records and turntables with spindles 14mm or lower. Its raised nibs activate the springs, maximising vibration absorption.

Both products are available directly from Stack Audio. The Serene Stabiliser retails at £195 (including VAT), while the Serene Mat is priced at £75 (including VAT). Orders ship from the UK and the Netherlands, with country-based VAT applied at checkout for European customers.
