TAD UNVEILS THE TAD-ME1TX BOOKSHELF SPEAKER SYSTEM
Technical Audio Devices Laboratories (TAD) has announced the TAD-ME1TX bookshelf speaker system, the latest addition to its Evolution Series.
This model succeeds the TAD-ME1, introduced in 2016, and incorporates several refinements to enhance audio performance.
UPGRADED CST DRIVER IN THE TAD-ME1TX
A notable enhancement in the TAD-ME1TX is the newly developed Coherent Source Transducer (CST) driver. This 9 cm driver features a beryllium diaphragm tweeter, produced using TAD’s proprietary vapor-deposition technique, similar to that used in their higher-end speakers. The CST driver aims to deliver clear imaging and natural sound-field reproduction.

MIDRANGE AND WOOFER DESIGN IN THE TAD-ME1TX
The midrange driver employs a newly developed magnesium diaphragm, chosen for its lightweight and high internal loss properties. This design aims to reduce distortion and provide clear midrange reproduction. The 16 cm woofer features a Multi-layered Aramid Composite Cone (MACC) diaphragm, designed to deliver rich, clear sound in the low-frequency range.
ENCLOSURE AND PORT DESIGN
The TAD-ME1TX utilizes TAD’s Structurally Inert Laminated Enclosure Technology (SILENT) to minimize unwanted vibrations. The Bidirectional Aero-Dynamic Slot (ADS) port design, inherited from its predecessor, is intended to contribute to rich and natural-sounding bass.
The speaker is available in two finishes: classic black and a new silver white. Each enclosure is meticulously finished by skilled artisans, involving multiple stages of coating and polishing to achieve a high-quality appearance.
AVAILABILITY AND PRICING OF THE TAD-ME1TX
The TAD-ME1TX will be available worldwide starting in late April 2025. The manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) is below.
HiFi PiG Says: We have been very impressed with TAD standmount speakers and look forward to hearing the new model soon!
