TECHNICS SL-1200M7L DJ TURNTABLE IS A LIMITED EDITION CELEBRATING 50 YEARS OF THE SL-1200 SERIES

Technics has announced a new limited edition homage to its iconic SL-1200 DJ turntable which is celebrating its 50^th anniversary this year.

The limited edition Technics SL-1200M7L celebrates fifty years since the Technics 1200 Series was launched as a popular direct-drive turntable in 1972. Epitomised by its powerful torque, easy operation, and high durability, the series is still highly acclaimed by DJs worldwide today.

Based on the SL-1200MK7, released in 2019, the new direct-drive turntables will be available in seven limited-edition colours (black, red, blue, white, green, yellow and beige) which have been selected to reflect the street culture that gave birth to DJing.

SPECIAL EDITION GOLD TONEARM

The SL-1200M7L’s special-edition details include tonearms anodised in a golden hue, engraved serial numbers on each individual piece, and a gold-coloured slipmat with the Technics logo.

The Technics SL-1200M7L features a high-rigidity cabinet and high-damping insulation for thorough shut-out of all vibrations, even during ‘harsh’ operating conditions (anyone who wants to know about ‘harsh’ DJing conditions needs to have a chat with our Editor, Stuart). It has a starting torque/brake speed adjustment function, pitch-control and reverse play function and a stylus illuminator featuring a high-brightness and long-life LED.

To celebrate the release, Technics is streaming an event in collaboration with Boiler Room and Dommune, featuring seven DJs from around the world. It will be streaming live on the Boiler Room website on Thursday 7th April 2022, 14.00 – appr. 21.00 (BST)
