Each day of December up til Xmas day we will recommend one classic album that we hope readers will listen to. We’ve chosen albums from loads of different genres and tried to keep them as accessible as possible and not too obscure so that as many readers as possible can enjoy the albums on their chosen format or streaming service.

What’s behind today’s window?

Hawkwind  – Moonglum (Live) (Rock, 1986)

Taken from the Live Chronicles album and recorded live at the Hammersmith Odeon in 85, Moonglum is written and sung by the wonderful Huw Lloyd-Langton. This tune has what I consider to be one of the best guitar riffs of all time. Interesting factoid: Huw played in Leo Sayer’s backing band for a time.
