HIGH END FRENCH HIFI BRAND TOTALDAC LAUNCH THREE NEW DACS INCLUDING THE FLAGSHIP TOTALDAC D-1 SUBLIME DAC

The Totaldac d1-sublime DAC is the brand’s new four-box flagship, with two new one-box options the Totaldac d1-unity DAC and Totaldac d1-triunity DAC. All are built around the new Totaldac Unity DAC architecture.

TOTALDAC UNITY DAC ARCHITECTURE

The unity architecture has been designed to allow a better clock distribution, a lower jitter, a lower R2R power supply rail impedance and a lower noise in the digital section. The R2R ladder resistors are still naked Vishay foil.

The new unity architecture allows all Totaldac d1 DACs to be upgraded to this new architecture level.

OUTPUT STAGE

The output stage is also fully new, in term of components and in term of schematics, and exclusively using discrete components. This new output stage produced a 3.5V unbalanced signal and a 7V balanced signal with low impedance for the best versatility, to be connected to all preamps, all integrated amps and also directly to all power amps.

TOTALDAC D1-UNITY DAC

The d1-unity benefits from the new Totaldac unity DAC architecture, with about 150 components upgraded or added to the electronic boards. This DAC can also integrate an internal streamer board option for network use, making the Totaldac d1-unity DAC into a Roon Ready DAC and streamer.

TOTALDAC D1-TRIUNITY DAC

The d1-triunity benefits from the new Totaldac “unity” DAC architecture, with about 290 components upgraded or added to the electronic boards. The d1-triunity is a d1-unity but with 3 R2R ladders per channel instead of one, giving a lower noise and the real scale of each instrument.

TOTALDAC D1-SUBLIME DAC

The Totaldac d1-sublime DAC also has the new Totaldac unity DAC architecture, with around 680 components upgraded or added to the electronic boards. The d1-sublime is a 4-box DAC composed of two d1-triunity DACs in monoblocs configuration with a special edition reclocker. It has a  3-output large-box live-power power supply and comes with two UP12 AES-EBU cable and a custom BNC clock cable. The monobloc configuration is proven by the Totaldac d1-twelve DAC, Vincent from Totaldac says that it “gives even more 3D and more body to the sound”.

The Totaldac d1-sublime DAC also has a second unbalanced and balanced output stage which can be used to feed a bass section or a subwoofer or a headphone amplifier, without risk of altering the main output.
