VERTERE DG X RECORD PLAYER LAUNCHES WITH MAJOR ENGINEERING UPGRADES
British HiFi brand Vertere has unveiled the Vertere DG X record player, a significant redesign of the DG-1, aimed at delivering improved performance while retaining ease of use.
With upgrades across its bearing, motor, tonearm, and plinth, the DG X is positioned as a reference-class turntable that builds on the core ideas of its predecessor with a more refined, engineering-focused execution.
VERTERE DG X RECORD PLAYER FEATURES REDESIGNED PLINTH AND CHASSIS
The DG X features a new three-layer acrylic plinth structure with an isolated sub-plinth to reduce unwanted resonance. A steel chassis anchors the motor and electronics, offering improved mechanical grounding. The design is intended to lower background noise and increase stability during playback, with three adjustable feet for precise levelling and a dust cover included.

UPDATED GROOVE RUNNER X TONEARM ON VERTERE DG X
A major change in the Vertere DG X record player is the inclusion of the Groove Runner X tonearm. It features a flat-profile, polymer-bonded arm beam to avoid resonance associated with traditional tube arms. The internal wiring uses Vertere’s Pulse conductors, and the counterweight system allows for accurate azimuth and tracking adjustments. The detachable arm beam and upgraded Tri-Point bearing improve rigidity and allow for safe transit.
PRECISION MOTOR DRIVE DERIVED FROM VERTERE RG-1
The motor system is based on the design used in Vertere’s RG-1 reference model. A programmable microprocessor generates precise sine and cosine signals, amplified through a bridged-balanced circuit to drive a low-voltage synchronous motor. Housed within the steel chassis and shielded with copper foil, the motor provides consistent, low-noise operation. Drive to the platter is handled via a machined aluminium pulley and a silicone rubber belt.
VERTERE DG X RECORD PLAYER BENEFITS FROM IMPROVED MAIN BEARING
The DG X uses a stainless-steel spindle that rides on a tungsten carbide ball within a high-tolerance bearing housing. The assembly is lubricated for long-term use and includes a redesigned bearing clamp to enhance rotational stability and reduce rumble. These changes contribute to a cleaner, more precise sound.
PLATTER DESIGN AND SPEED CONTROL
The platter is machined from aluminium alloy with a bonded PETG record interface. A damping disc on the underside helps suppress resonance, and a cork/neoprene/nitrile disc protects the plinth. Speed switching is handled electronically via a switch at the rear of the top plate, avoiding the need to handle the belt.

USER-FRIENDLY SETUP WITH UPGRADE OPTIONS
Despite its performance credentials, the Vertere DG X record player is designed to be simple to set up. The factory-aligned tonearm and cartridge package allows the player to be ready for use in around 10 minutes. The tonearm can be removed and reinstalled easily, aiding safe transportation. The DG X also supports a range of upgrades, from improved cartridges to higher-grade interconnects and mains cables, allowing users to refine their setup over time.

VERTERE DG X RECORD PLAYER AVAILABILITY AND PRICING
The Vertere DG X record player is available now, supplied with the Groove Runner X tonearm and Sabre Lite MM cartridge. The complete package is priced at £4150 / $5400 / AU$8500.
