Wet Dreams is a project featuring members from Death By Unga Bunga, FOAAAM and Warp Riders. The members found a collective interest for modern American psychedelic hard rock and punk, and have undertaken a number of shows in Oslo after they started up in 2015. Now they are finally ready to release their debut 7″ single, ‘Cartridge Belt’.
The 7″ consists of 3 songs which are about war, travels inside the mind and party rituals. Speaking about the EP songwriter Sebastian Ulstad Olsen said, “Even if the song structures aren’t miles away from the stuff I write in Death By Unga Bunga, I’ve been longing to challenge the recording and production process. I love music that bend the rules, so Wet Dreams is a great laboratory for this purpose. We probably didn’t spend more than 18 hours on this project, with great help from Preben Andersen and Øystein Braut.”
The record is due out 17th May 2017 via Black Pop Records, which is the latest addition to Norway’s Jansen Plateproduksjon label group (Los Plantronics, Hajk, Atlanter, Electric Eye, Death By Unga Bunga, Chain Wallet etc.). As a label that have always sought to bring the best of Norway’s music to the UK and US, Black Pop Records focus is on garage infused punk and power-pop. The label is set to release a number of 7” singles over the course of 2017, bringing forward tracks that are infectious and hook driven whilst remaining challenging and innovative. Their first two releases will be Wet Dreams ‘Cartridge Belt’ and a new single from Kynnet (featuring members of Teksti-TV 666).
