WHARFEDALE LAUNCHES SUPER LINTON SPEAKERS WITH ENHANCED DESIGN AND PERFORMANCE
Wharfedale has announced the Wharfedale Super Linton, an upgraded version of its popular Linton loudspeaker, known for its vintage-inspired design.
CLASSIC HIFI
Building on the popularity of the 2019 Linton reissue, the Wharfedale Super Linton features significant updates to its drive units, crossover, and cabinet, delivering an enhanced audio experience while retaining the model’s classic look. This new version sits alongside Wharfedale’s Heritage Series, a line dedicated to reviving classic models from the 1960s and 70s with modern engineering.
WHARFEDALE SUPER LINTON UPGRADES
The Wharfedale Super Linton has a slightly taller cabinet, filled with specialised materials to reduce resonance, while retaining the original footprint of the 2019 model. The bass driver has been upgraded with a more powerful motor system, extending the bass response to 32Hz and adding depth and control to low frequencies. The treble unit borrows elements from Wharfedale’s Dovedale model, with a 25mm fabric dome and ceramic magnet system, offering refined high-frequency performance. The midrange driver remains the same as in the previous Linton but is now housed in a dedicated chamber to improve sound clarity.
NEW CROSSOVER
To bring all these elements together, Wharfedale’s engineers redesigned the crossover network, splitting it into two boards to minimise interference between frequency bands. Upgraded components and internal cabling further enhance signal purity and sound quality. The grille has also been refined to improve sound dispersion, maintaining smooth integration of the bass, midrange, and treble for a cohesive listening experience.
