HORA AUDIO COCO DRIVER UPGRADED IN PURSUIT OF BETTER SOUND
Back in January, we brought you the news from Japan of the official launch of the Hora Audio COCO loudspeakers.
Hora has just been in touch to let us know that they have now upgraded COCO’s main driver.
HORA AUDIO COCO
The specifications of the driver unit used for the main body of the Hora Audio COCO loudspeaker have been changed. Hora say “this is the result of repeated development in pursuit of ideals in search of better sound”.
AUDAX FRANCE
Hora Audio explain further: “Based on the 17 cm full-range unit from Audax France, we produced an original magnetic circuit with a neodymium magnet with strong magnetic force added. For horn speakers, strong magnets produce a large driving force that is a source of vivid and delicate sound. In addition, the diaphragm made by combining the phase plug and the double cone produces a sound with excellent treble characteristics. And the durable corrugation cross edge allows for long-term use”.
IMPEDANCE
With the new driver, the Hora Audio COCO has an impedance that is now 6Ω. There is no change in appearance with the grill net attached. The price remains unchanged.
Hora says that with the introduction of the new driver, the sound is “wider, more powerful, and more lively and natural”.
